HOUSTON, April 20, 2016 For Immediate Press Release:
On April 23rd and 24th, at the largest children’s festival in the USA, a new game-like approach to teaching children as young as 24 months to play the piano and read music will be introduced to Houston families by The Kid’s Directory – one of the McDonald’s Houston Children’s Festival sponsors.
The program, called “Soft Mozart,” offers active one-on-one interaction with the piano keys and music notes. Children at the festival will have the opportunity to try out this fun and active form of music education. In addition, families can register for music classes at the Fort Bend Music Center’s Houston location, 3133 Southwest Freeway (at Buffalo Speedway).
“We are going to add a new flavor to the festival with these fun music educational computer games that are guaranteed to excite and engage many families regarding music making and piano education” explains Craig Latson, Director of Education at Fort Bend Music Center. “And now, we are happy to introduce the Hiner’s ‘Soft Mozart’ method for early learners,” Craig added.
Hellene Hiner, the author and inventor of “Soft Mozart” stated, “In past decades the piano was the heart and soul of entertainment for millions of families until the technological revolution affected the importance of piano education. But now, we have found a very simple way to bring back music education as a major focus in the home, in addition to restoring the excitement of music making to countless children of all ages.”
Jackie Bouwhuis, “Soft Mozart” Music Director and a piano teacher with almost 30 years of experience said, “Never before has music education been as contagious, fun and productive as with the invention of “Soft Mozart”, Children at the festival will receive a unique music educational experience that will encourage them to learn more, practice more and make more music on the piano!”
