Pedagogy

How are you doing? Do you sometimes feel tired, overwhelmed, burned out? This is exactly how toddlers may feel too. What triggers our frustration?

Our Pedagogy today:

What is FUN repetition and what is cramming? I think once and for all you have to understand the difference. It will help you to apply this understanding to all other academic activities with your child.

So, here we go:

Attention does not like inefficient projects. With each failure, the energy of attention decreases until it is completely depleted.  Depletion of attention leads to frustration.

Cramming is an aggressive intervention into organic development of the energy of attention in order to achieve short-term results dictated by outside conventions.

Forcing your child to mindlessly copy achievements of another person (even you!), leveling his own progress, is as detrimental as forced blooming.

Cramming impedes natural development of the toddler's cognitive musical functions as well as weakens him physically (tense muscles) and emotionally (dependency, lack of confidence in his abilities, apathy, unwillingness to improve, low self-esteem, lack of motivation).

In order to avoid cramming, you as a parent and a teacher must respect your baby’s imperfections. It is necessary to understand that the child does not have to fit the mold. It is the your duty to develop his unique talents in the most optimal way from zero.

Reality is such that for some time your child will not play with a perfect hand, use ideal finger positioning or be able to directly control the touch quality of piano keys. All these skills as well as many others are objectively superstructural and may only become relevant once the energy of attention is freed up from solving physical problems.

Fine motor skills and coordination development

Keep working on all piano exercises and enjoy your time together with your beautiful baby!

Music theory and ear training

How is your child's progress with the ImageNote Alphabet School so far?

Please, always keep in mind: Soft Mozart Modules are not games at all! They are programmed with advanced algorithm that registers your child's every move and gives him a different route based on his performance. As you may noticed we also use computer keyboard keys as a prototype of piano keys that makes future challenges more gradual and smooth. In order to make the game fully and effectively functional and beneficial for you, please pay great deal of attention to them and… be very cautious. The module is very intense.

I suggest you to keep working with good old cards time to time.
Here is the Sol to Sol song track for you:

Place the cards in ascending and descending orders, hide the cards and learn the sequence of notes together with your child!
