The most effective music training and fast delivery of skills.

In the Hiner Method, we rely on three main  types of perception, each of which working all together lead a child to interaction with a musical language that requires no middlemen.

  1. Speech.

In English, I call this technique “from speech to pitch.”

In Russian it sounds, without any rhyme, “from voice to sound.”

Through the voice enunciation (solmization), we try as soon as possible to lead a child to learning the sound of a pitch and its place on the staff.

2. The capability to see color and image

With the help of picture and color, we try as soon as possible to lead a child to the Elementary staff and give him/her the capability to interact  with it.

  1. The capability to control each finger of both hands

With the help of exercises, we try as soon as possible  to lead a child to interaction with piano keys and sheet music by means of touching, in other words a tactile experience.

URGENCY IN BUILDING SKILLS

As you can see, in all cases our aim is as soon as possible to lead a child  to an interaction with music.

We don't want to collect cards creating the word “eternity,” to play exercises endlessly in order to develop a finger quickness or  to sing the solfa--with or without the accompaniment! Our aim is to get a child to a musical stream and let him be in it and interact with this stream constantly; to swim the breast stroke and the crawl, to dive in and lie on his back . . .

Through this cooperation, we teach children to hear and differentiate sounds and intervals, to read  white and black sheet music, to be able to sort chords and to transpose, to be able to  hear and understand classical music and to write dictations. In general to get a full  musical education.

The cooperation between a child and this musical stream evolves only through the use of  the program Gentle Piano!

Why?

Because a sound is the most important unit in music.

So the sound, as we know it, has a beginning, a development and an end.

And it's IMPOSSIBLE to see this beginning, this development and this end without the program Gentle Piano!

There's no way. Only when the piano is connected to a computer, when  a child's finger presses a piano key and he sees a bud then a flower then a butterfly, can the very direct interaction begin without outside interference between the child and the pure musical stream.

Yes, just the interaction with a soulless computer draws out of a child all the necessary reactions and sparks, which develop creativity and musicality in him. The child presses a piano key--a note--and hears what is going on, and most importantly he sees the beginning, the development and the completion of a sound.

Moreover, he sees the beginning, the development and the completion of several sounds! Some continue to develop; others finish and require a renewal.

And this process--just THIS process--develops a child musically. All the rest of the activities may either prepare the child for his/her development or, all in all, distract him from this development forever.
