The Kingdom of Tune Book- Downloadable
Written by Hellene Hiner, this music fairy tale coloring book introduces children to the history of music evolution and to basic musical concepts.
Hellene Hiner wrote this book specifically for her young students. The idea to transform abstract music concepts and dry facts of music history into an entertaining fairy tale came to Mrs.Hiner a long time ago, during her teaching practice. Initially, this fairy tale existed as a series of short stories that she told in her music classes and only now has it been published as a book.
Mrs. Hiner uses an imaginary world of fairy tales to explain complicated musical concepts that are understandable and relatable to young children. This book is fun and beneficial to any child, not just music students.
For children 4 to 8 years old.
Excerpt from the book:
"Once upon a time, a group of sounds flew to Earth from space, looking for a good home. The sounds were all unique: some were gruff, some were soft, some were pure, and some were false, and some were long and some were short. They had very different personalities.
When people appeared on Earth, they paid great attention to sounds. They even learned different things from them, including how to use their voices. People liked to listen to sounds with a certain fixed pitch or tone the most, because they could repeat them".
