Before you begin, let’s make sure your instrument is ready to "talk" to music notation using the Soft Mozart® system.

What kind of keyboard do you need?

✅ Any digital keyboard or piano that can connect to a computer via a MIDI interface will work.
It can be a modern digital piano or even a basic portable synthesizer.

👶 For children aged 2 to 5 years, and even adult beginners, a 5-octave (61 keys) instrument is more than enough.

📌 If your keyboard has a USB-MIDI or traditional MIDI IN/OUT port — you're good to go!

Don’t worry if your keyboard looks simple. With our system, even basic instruments become powerful learning tools.

🕵️ Step 1.1 Find Middle C

Middle C is your musical “home base.”

📍 It connects the left (bass) and right (treble) hand areas.

Look for the group of two black keys closest to the center of your keyboard.
Middle C is the white key just to the left of those two black keys.
