Before You Start — Know the Revolutionary Basics

Music is not chaos. It’s a system — logical, visual, symmetrical.

At the heart of this system is the Grand Staff — a visual map that connects notes, keys, note-sounds and even your fingers.

Soft Mozart® is built on this foundation. Once you understand it, you’ll never see music the same way again.

Grand Staff System

Here is the keyboard map that shows you which note each key belongs to — at all times:

Prepare Your Keyboard to Work with Interactive Sheet Music
Before you begin, make sure your instrument is ready to “talk” to music notation using the Soft Mozart® system.

What kind of keyboard do you need?

Any digital keyboard or piano that can connect to a computer via a MIDI interface will work. It can be a modern digital piano or a basic portable synthesizer.

For children aged 2–5 and adult beginners, a 5-octave (61 keys) instrument is sufficient.

If your keyboard has USB-MIDI or traditional MIDI IN/OUT — you’re good to go.

Even basic instruments become powerful learning tools with our system.

Step 1.1 — Find Middle C

Middle C is your musical “home base”. It connects the left (bass) and right (treble) areas.

Look for the group of two black keys near the center of your keyboard. Middle C is the white key just to the left of those two black keys.

Step 1.2 — Print and Install the Piano Key Guides

These are our signature visual navigators. They help instantly recognize keys and relate them to notes.

With these guides, your keyboard becomes part of the learning interface.

The printable templates are included in your demo package.
